Oat Milk - How to Make it Great
Making milk out of nuts, seeds or grains gives you a great feeling. Knowing how to make great milk out of nuts, seeds or grains gives you an awesome feeling of satisfaction, like you’re no longer depending on supermarkets to get milk and you’re a super human who can turn plants into milks. How great of a superpower is this!
A couple of months ago, I was having brunch with some friends at a great place in Dublin that also offers plant-based options. When I ordered my latte, the waiter asked me if I want oat or almond milk in my coffee. Oat milk was 20c extra, but I still decided to go for it. The latte I was served was so creamy and nice, like a dessert. Before I left, I asked the barista what kind of oat milks are they using and she told me it’s Oatly. I was hooked so I went to the health food store to buy some.
Few weeks have passed and I was not able to find Oatly anywhere, so I had to start making oat milk. The first few tries weren’t great as I was soaking the oats beforehand. As I am not a big fan of gelatinous milk, I had to learn other ways to make oat milk.
See below my method for a great oat milk, one that will taste so good it will make you forget about other oat milks for a while.
Let me know if you try it and how did you find it!
